HOW IT WORKS ↘

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your skin already makes that attracts and holds water. Fillers made from it, including options from the Restylane® and RHA® collections, are placed in small amounts to build shape and volume and to smooth fine lines around the mouth. Because hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed, it is a flexible choice for first-time clients.

THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE ↘

  1. Your visit begins with a consultation about the shape and size you want. Your injector reviews your facial balance and maps a plan that fits you.

  2. Numbing cream is applied, and most fillers also contain lidocaine for comfort. Your injector then places the filler in small, precise amounts.

  3. Treatment takes about 45 minutes. Some swelling or bruising is normal and usually settles within a few days.

WHAT TO EXPECT ↘

You'll see results right away. Swelling is usually most noticeable in the first 24 to 48 hours, and your lips settle into their final shape in about two weeks. Lip filler typically lasts 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used and your metabolism. Individual results vary.

  • For the first 24 hours, avoid anything that may cause the product to migrate or increase blood flow to the treated area. This includes:

    • Kissing or pressing on your lips

    • Rubbing or massaging your lips unless your injector tells you to

    • Strenuous exercise

    • Saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga

    • Alcohol consumption

    • Facial treatments or massages

    Wait 24 hours before applying lip products. Gentle ice can ease swelling, and you can return to most normal activities the same day. Call us with any questions or concerns.
