Microneedling is a collagen-boosting treatment that smooths texture, softens fine lines and acne scars, and evens out skin tone. At Haus of Aesthetics Med Spa in San Antonio, our licensed esthetician customizes each treatment to your skin, and you can add a BioRePeel for extra brightening.
HOW IT WORKS ↘
Microneedling uses a medical-grade pen with tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your skin responds by producing new collagen and elastin, which gradually firms and smooths it. The channels also help serums absorb more deeply. It is safe for most skin types and tones.
THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE ↘
Your visit begins with a consultation to review your skin concerns, history and goals, and to plan your treatment series.
Numbing cream is applied for comfort. Your esthetician then glides the microneedling pen across the treatment area and finishes with a soothing, hydrating serum.
Each visit takes about 60 minutes. Most clients need 3 to 6 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
WHAT TO EXPECT ↘
Your skin will look pink, like a mild sunburn, for 1 to 3 days and may feel tight or dry as it heals. Many clients notice a glow within about a week. Collagen keeps building for months, so texture, lines and scars keep improving with each session. Individual results vary.

Results from a full microneedling series can last several months or longer, because the new collagen your skin builds stays in place. Your skin still ages naturally, so many clients book a maintenance session every few months.

Most clients need 3 to 6 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Dullness and fine lines usually need fewer sessions, while acne scars usually need more. Your esthetician will recommend a plan at your consultation.

For the first 48 hours, avoid the following while your skin heals:
Makeup for the first 24 hours
Retinol, acids or exfoliating products
Strenuous exercise
Saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga
Direct sun or tanning. Wear SPF daily
Swimming pools or other facial treatments
Redness and mild tightness are normal and fade within a few days. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, and call us with any questions or concerns.
